Random Thoughts show (and Gullifty's) is closed [news]
My show "Random Thoughts" is now closed. All of the artwork has been taken down, and returned to my house (where will I store it all!?). Nobody was yet needing it to be taken down, but sadly, after 31 years in existance, Gullifty's is now closed as well. It was a lot of fun to have my artwork all over the walls for so long!
It's sad to think that the economy moves and changes so much that things that have been in place for decades must close; and a place that is known (...)
Show: Random Thoughts [news]
In December, I opened a show hosted by Gullfity's, 1922 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. (Squirell Hill).
The show itself (the images) will remain on the walls for now, even though the show has ended.
So come on down and have a look!
Photo trip to Isle of Eigg [news]
Well!Just got back from a rather nice photography trip with Richard Childs to the Isle of Eigg, in Scotland. Had a wonderful time, and got some very nice images. One recommendation if anyone is tempted to do photography tours: don't try so hard! I was trying to hard the first couple of days, and got fairly discouraged. Once I relaxed, and took my time, I started to see my images better, and ended up with a few I quite (...)
Ethiopian Vist [news]
Geri is currently contracting with the UN in Ethiopia, so naturally I decided to follow along.. Very interesting place! I'm currently trying to update the gallery from Ethiopia; this is a somewhat challenging experience, as where I am staying they have what I would consider "excessive filters" on their network. You can't even get out on standard protocols, much less in... so we shall see if I can do it. So far, that's a "no, you can't". So it will have to wait until I get back (...)Photos accepted for Publication [news]
Jason and I belong to the Photographic Section of The Academy of
Science and Art of Pittsburgh. Our club is publishing a book
of photos from members, and we both had photos selected.
Geri had one photo selected. This photo is of the island of Kerrera
and the Hutcheson Memorial, taken from the beach in front of the
Youth Hostel in Oban, Scotland. The date was July 21, 2008.
The Hutcheson Memorial is the tall spire on the right. This is not
a panorama, but a standard photo with (...)

Jason Prague notes [news]
Well, here we are in Prague, or Praha as the natives spell it. We don't seem to have free time until Sunday, so I'll just post we are here and that some of the buildings are incredible. Oddly enough, the buildings are mostly coated in stucco... or what I would call the old equivalent of it is. This makes sense more or less, but I was not expecting it. A local explained that bricks or stone would be considered provicial, or out in the sticks. So they have them all coated and decorated. (...)Europe trip update - Link to Photo Album [news]
Well, we have been very busy taking lots of pictures and seeing
many interesting places. I have put a lot of pictures in my

Bath, UK [news]
We have both been busy working on our first project - 10-15 images that tell a story of a place in the Bloomsbury area of London. So not much time for posting on this blog.We had a free weekend, so are spending it in Bath (a place made famous by Jane Austin). Here are some images Jason and I took while there:
First - the Roman temple of Aquae Sulis which has been excavated UNDER the city of Bath. Here are the steps up to the front door of the temple:

London - second day of class [news]
In the last post, we were in the first class lounge waiting for our flight to London. We arrived about 45 minutes late - really not bad at all. Then spent over an hour "on queue" for passport control. (I'm learning to speak British <smile>.) Once through all that, then the underground (or tube) to a couple of blocks from our flat, then walking the rest of the way.We are in Central London, not far from King's Cross (remember Harry Potter?) It is very easy for us to get to (...)
